My Email: alison.renstrom@washk12.org

I am excited to be starting my 10th year at Snow Canyon Middle School serving in two new roles as both the Attendance Coordinator and Learning Coach.  Increasing the time that students spend in class learning is my number one focus as the Attendance Coordinator.  As the Learning Coach, I am eager to work with teachers as they set goals to improve student learning in their classrooms.  I love being a Warrior.  I love your families.  I love our community.

My family consists of my husband, Zachary, who is the General Manager of the Washington County Water Conservancy District.  I also have three children (all proud graduates of Snow Canyon Middle School).  Sierra is married to Lucas Jensen and works as a radiology technologist.  Nicholas is a CNA and attending Utah Tech as he prepares to go to medical school.  Austin is the Student Body President of Snow Canyon High School.

I grew up in Kaysville, Utah, where my dad was my principal at Davis High School. The first song I remember learning at 3 years old was the Davis High Fight Song. I never questioned that I would grow up to be an educator.  School spirit, pride, and honor were some of the first values I was taught.

I attended Brigham Young University and Weber State University to earn my bachelor’s degree in teaching math and science.  Zachary and I lived in Topeka, Kansas for 3 years where I taught school and he went to law school.  We then spent 2 years living in Las Vegas.  We have been living in the St. George area for the past 20 years and consider ourselves among the luckiest of all people to be able to do so.

The past 6 years I have found an absolute passion for teaching Physical Education at Snow Canyon Middle School while also coaching cross country and track at Snow Canyon High School.  I have had every intention of continuing to happily do these things until the end of time.   But then one New Year’s Eve my son challenged me to set a goal to “google getting a master’s degree”.  So I did. I have now recently earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Utah University. This has opened my eyes to new ways to contribute.  My plan is to take the same passion I have for teaching PE and coaching athletes into my new roles as Attendance Coordinator and Learning Coach.

I feel very fortunate to be working with amazing teachers, educators, and students at Snow Canyon Middle School as we are invested in moving forward with that same spirit, pride, and honor..

“Stand and cheer. We all are here to show our pride. SC Unite!  All right!”
